The secret of the napkin
The
magician takes a napkin, breaks it into many pieces and asks a spectator to
make a ball. The magician takes out a
handkerchief to wrap it and the spectator discovers another ball which the
magician wanted to change for. The magician smiles, says the magic words and asks the spectator to
unwrap the broken napkin. Surprise!! The napkin is whole again.
What is the secret?
I prepare
two wrinkled balls with two napkins.
I place
one of them into a handkerchief and hide it in one corner of the handkerchief,
to remove it without the spectator knowing.
I
place the other one, with a thread in my pocket.
Then
I present the spectators a new napkin on both sides, taking it from two
corners, with the fingers and thumbs.
I
cut it into a thousand pieces, and ask a spectator to make a tight ball with
the pieces, and I put the ball in my handkerchief.
I
take the handkerchief so that I can get the hidden ball in a corner.
After
that, I take the ball I have into my pocket, to cause laughter from spectator
and their attention to it and in that moment, I change in the handkerchief the
broken ball by the hidden ball in the corner.
Now,
I relax and enjoy the moment, because everything is done. I say the magic words and ask the spectator
to unroll the napkin, and show it to the public.
Surprise!! The napkin is whole.
